Terms of Service
Last updated: March 2026
1. Introduction
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of TeacherForge, an AI-powered exam generation service operated at teacherforge.io (“Service”, “we”, “us”, “our”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms in full. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to create an account and use the Service. TeacherForge is designed for educators and educational professionals. The Service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.
3. Accounts
To use the Service, you must register with a valid, non-disposable email address and verify it via a one-time code. You are responsible for:
- Keeping your login credentials confidential.
- All activity that occurs under your account.
- Notifying us promptly at if you suspect unauthorised access.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, show signs of abuse (such as creating multiple accounts to circumvent usage limits), or remain inactive for an extended period.
4. Service Description
TeacherForge allows teachers to upload an existing exam in PDF format and generate a new version that preserves the original’s structure, topics, question types, and difficulty level. The Service uses artificial intelligence models to analyse the uploaded exam and produce new questions with a corresponding answer key.
Generated exams are delivered as PDF and DOCX files, depending on your subscription tier.
5. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer
All content generated by TeacherForge is provided on an “informational only” basis.
While our pipeline includes automated validation and correction steps, AI-generated content may contain errors, inaccuracies, or inappropriate material. As the teacher, you are solely responsible for reviewing, verifying, and validating all generated content before using it with students.
TeacherForge does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, pedagogical appropriateness, or suitability of any generated exam for any particular purpose. You use generated content at your own professional discretion and risk.
6. Intellectual Property
Your uploads
You retain all rights to any exams, documents, or materials you upload to the Service. By uploading content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to process it solely for the purpose of generating your requested output. We do not claim ownership of your uploaded materials.
Generated content
Generated exams are derivative works produced by AI based on the structure and characteristics of your uploaded material. Upon payment (for paid tiers) or within your free tier allowance, you receive a non-exclusive, perpetual, royalty-free licence to use, modify, print, and distribute the generated content for educational purposes.
Our intellectual property
The Service itself — including its design, branding, software, prompts, and processing pipeline — remains our intellectual property. These Terms do not transfer any ownership of the Service to you.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Upload content you do not have the right to use or that infringes third-party rights.
- Upload content containing illegal, harmful, or offensive material.
- Create multiple accounts to circumvent free tier limits or other usage restrictions.
- Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to interact with the Service.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the AI prompts or processing pipeline.
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute generated exams without modification (using them in your teaching is always permitted).
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service’s infrastructure or security.
8. Pricing and Payment
Tiers
TeacherForge offers a free tier (with limited lifetime generations), per-exam purchases, monthly and annual subscription plans, and school plans. Current pricing is displayed on our website and may change with reasonable advance notice.
Payment processing
All payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as our Merchant of Record. Lemon Squeezy handles billing, invoicing, sales tax, and VAT on our behalf. By making a purchase, you also agree to Lemon Squeezy’s Terms of Service.
Subscriptions
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or annually) unless you cancel before the renewal date. You can cancel at any time through your account dashboard or by contacting us. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain access until then.
Refunds
Per-exam purchases are non-refundable once the generated exam has been delivered. For subscriptions, if you are unsatisfied, contact us within 7 days of your initial purchase or most recent renewal for a full refund of that period. Refund requests are handled through Lemon Squeezy.
9. Free Tier
The free tier provides a limited number of lifetime exam generations with watermarked previews. Free tier users may view generated exams in the browser but cannot download unwatermarked PDF or DOCX files. Once your free generations are exhausted, you must purchase a per-exam generation or subscribe to continue using the Service.
10. Data and Privacy
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information. By using the Service, you consent to the data practices described in the Privacy Policy.
11. Uploaded PDF Processing
When you upload a PDF, it is converted to images and sent to third-party AI model providers for analysis. We do not permanently store your uploaded PDFs beyond the duration needed to complete the generation process. Uploaded files are deleted after processing is complete.
Generated exam data (structured JSON, rendered PDF, and DOCX files) is stored on our servers so you can re-download your exams. You may request deletion of your generated exams at any time.
12. Service Availability
We strive to keep TeacherForge available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control. We are not liable for any losses resulting from downtime.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
- The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.
- Our total aggregate liability for any claims arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
- We are not responsible for any consequences arising from your use of AI-generated exam content, including but not limited to errors in questions or answer keys.
14. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: (a) your use of the Service, (b) your violation of these Terms, (c) your violation of any third party’s rights, or (d) content you upload to the Service.
15. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent or abusive behaviour, or for any other reason at our sole discretion with reasonable notice.
Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. We may delete your account data and generated exams after a reasonable retention period, unless we are required by law to retain it.
16. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by posting a notice on the Service. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of revised Terms constitutes acceptance of the changes. If you disagree with the changes, you should stop using the Service and delete your account.
17. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
If you are a consumer in the European Union, you retain any mandatory consumer protection rights granted by the laws of your country of residence.
