Terms of Service
Last updated: April 2026
1. Introduction
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of TeacherForge, an AI-powered teaching material generation service operated at teacherforge.io (“Service”, “we”, “us”, “our”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms in full. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to create an account and use the Service. TeacherForge is designed for educators and educational professionals. The Service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.
3. Accounts
To use the Service, you must register with a valid, non-disposable email address and verify it via a one-time code. You may also sign in using a passkey or Google account. You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the security of your account access.
- All activity that occurs under your account.
- Notifying us promptly at if you suspect unauthorised access.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, show signs of abuse (such as creating multiple accounts to circumvent usage limits), or remain inactive for an extended period.
4. Service Description
TeacherForge provides AI-powered tools for language teachers to create professional teaching materials. The Service includes multiple products: grammar worksheets, vocabulary worksheets, reading comprehension exercises, writing tasks, listening sets, and a full exam composer that combines multiple domains.
The Service uses artificial intelligence models to generate questions, exercises, and answer keys based on your configuration choices.
Generated materials are delivered as PDF and DOCX files for all users.
The Service also includes a listening library — a curated collection of pre-generated audio recordings (MP3) and accompanying scripts, produced using text-to-speech technology. Teachers browse and select listening materials from the library, then generate exercises from them. The audio files and scripts in the listening library are platform assets created by TeacherForge, not content generated on-demand from your configuration choices.
5. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer
All content generated by TeacherForge is provided on an “informational only” basis.
While our pipeline includes automated validation and correction steps, AI-generated content may contain errors, inaccuracies, or inappropriate material. As the teacher, you are solely responsible for reviewing, verifying, and validating all generated content before using it with students.
TeacherForge does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, pedagogical appropriateness, or suitability of any generated material for any particular purpose. You use generated content at your own professional discretion and risk.
6. Intellectual Property
6a. Generated content
Generated materials are works produced by AI based on your configuration choices (topics, grammar targets, difficulty level, etc.). Upon payment (for paid tiers) or within your free tier allowance, you receive a non-exclusive, perpetual, royalty-free licence to use, modify, print, and distribute the generated content for educational purposes. This covers worksheets, exercises, answer keys, and any other content created on-demand through the Service’s composers.
6b. Listening library content (audio files and scripts)
Audio recordings and scripts in the listening library are platform assets owned by TeacherForge. They are not generated from your configuration choices and are not covered by the generated content licence above.
When you generate listening exercises or download a listening bundle, you receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the included audio files and scripts solely for educational purposes in your own teaching. This means you may:
- Play the audio files in your classroom (in-person or virtual).
- Share the audio files directly with your students as part of a lesson, homework, or assessment.
- Include the audio files in materials distributed to students through a school learning management system (LMS) or secure classroom platform.
- Store copies on your personal devices for your own teaching use.
You may not:
- Upload, publish, or stream audio files or scripts to any public platform (including but not limited to YouTube, podcast directories, SoundCloud, social media, or public websites).
- Redistribute audio files or scripts as standalone assets, resource packs, or downloadable collections — whether free or paid.
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially distribute the audio files or scripts, either on their own or bundled with other materials.
- Use the audio files or scripts to create derivative audio products (such as remixed recordings, audiobooks, or new audio courses).
- Remove, obscure, or alter any metadata or attribution embedded in the audio files.
We reserve the right to revoke this licence and restrict access to the listening library if we reasonably determine that these restrictions have been violated.
6c. Our intellectual property
The Service itself — including its design, branding, software, prompts, processing pipeline, data schemas, curriculum taxonomies, and listening library (audio files and scripts) — remains our intellectual property. These Terms do not transfer any ownership of the Service or its assets to you.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Submit content you do not have the right to use or that infringes third-party rights.
- Create multiple accounts to circumvent free tier limits or other usage restrictions.
- Use automated tools, bots, scrapers, or scripts to interact with the Service or its API endpoints outside of the provided user interface.
- Share your account credentials or session with others, or allow multiple individuals to use a single account (school and team plans are available for multi-user access).
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the AI prompts or processing pipeline.
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute generated materials without modification (using them in your teaching is always permitted).
- Upload, publish, or redistribute listening library audio files or scripts outside of direct classroom use, as described in Section 6b.
- Use automated tools to bulk-download audio files or scripts from the listening library.
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service’s infrastructure or security.
To protect shared infrastructure and ensure fair access for all users, the Service applies rate limits and usage controls. Attempts to circumvent these controls — including but not limited to creating multiple accounts, rotating IP addresses, or using automated scripts — constitute a violation of these Terms and may result in immediate account suspension or termination.
8. Pricing and Payment
Tiers
TeacherForge offers a free tier (with a one-time credit allowance), monthly and annual subscription plans, and school plans. Current pricing is displayed on our website and may change with reasonable advance notice.
Payment processing
All payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as our Merchant of Record. Lemon Squeezy handles billing, invoicing, sales tax, and VAT on our behalf. By making a purchase, you also agree to Lemon Squeezy’s Terms of Service.
Subscriptions
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or annually) unless you cancel before the renewal date. You can cancel at any time through your account dashboard or by contacting us. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain access until then.
Refunds
Credits consumed during generation are non-refundable once the material has been delivered. For subscriptions, if you are unsatisfied, contact us within 7 days of your initial purchase or most recent renewal for a full refund of that period. Refund requests are handled through Lemon Squeezy.
9. Free Tier
The free tier provides 18 credits at signup (one-time, never expire), including clean PDF and DOCX downloads. All features, composers, and exercise types are available on the free tier. Once your credits are exhausted, you may subscribe to a paid plan for continued access.
10. Data and Privacy
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information. By using the Service, you consent to the data practices described in the Privacy Policy.
11. Content Processing
When you create materials, your configuration choices (topics, grammar targets, difficulty level, etc.) are sent to third-party AI model providers for content generation.
Generated material data (structured JSON, rendered PDF, and DOCX files) is stored on our servers so you can re-download your materials. You may request deletion of your generated materials at any time.
Listening library content (audio files and scripts) is pre-generated by TeacherForge using text-to-speech technology and stored on our servers. When you select a listening item and generate exercises, only the exercise generation step involves a live AI call — the audio and script are served from our existing library.
12. Service Availability
We strive to keep TeacherForge available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control. We are not liable for any losses resulting from downtime.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
- The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.
- Our total aggregate liability for any claims arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
- We are not responsible for any consequences arising from your use of AI-generated content, including but not limited to errors in questions or answer keys.
14. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: (a) your use of the Service, (b) your violation of these Terms, (c) your violation of any third party’s rights, or (d) content you submit to the Service.
15. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent or abusive behaviour, or for any other reason at our sole discretion with reasonable notice.
Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. We may delete your account data and generated materials after a reasonable retention period, unless we are required by law to retain it.
16. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by posting a notice on the Service. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of revised Terms constitutes acceptance of the changes. If you disagree with the changes, you should stop using the Service and delete your account.
17. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
If you are a consumer in the European Union, you retain any mandatory consumer protection rights granted by the laws of your country of residence.
18. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
